Neurointensive Care Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Neurointensive Care to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our critical care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading multidisciplinary teams, and contributing to the development of our neurointensive care services.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a strong background in intensive care medicine, with a particular interest in neurointensive care. You will be expected to work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide expert care to patients with complex neurological conditions. Your clinical expertise, leadership skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment will be essential in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our critical care services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering critical care
- Engage in associated service development, clinical governance, and quality improvement work
- Contribute to the education and supervision of students and trainees
- Support directorate-wide research activities
- Contribute to the clinical management of the base unit
The ideal candidate will have:
- Evidence of successful completion of a formal training program in Intensive Care Medicine
- EDIC and/or FFICM and/or equivalent
- Enhanced training/experience in neurointensive care, and a track record of clinical interest in this subspecialty area
- Specialist registration (within the next 6 months) and a valid license to practise with the General Medical Council
- Educational supervision training that fulfils the Trust's minimum requirements
- Valid Advanced Life Support certification
