Job Title: Locum Consultant in Neurointensive Care Specialist

About the Role:

The St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Consultant in Neurointensive Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Critical Care department, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and expertise in the care of neurointensive care patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering Critical Care services
  • Engage in associated Service Development, Clinical Governance, and Quality Improvement work
  • Contribute to the education and supervision of students and trainees
  • Support Directorate-wide Research activities
  • Contribute to the clinical management of the Neurointensive Care Unit

Requirements:

  • Evidence of successful completion of a formal training program in Intensive Care Medicine
  • EDIC and/or FFICM and/or equivalent
  • Enhanced training/experience in neurointensive care, and a track record of clinical interest in this subspecialty area
  • Specialist registration (within the next 6 months) and a valid license to practise with the General Medical Council
  • Educational supervision training that fulfils the Trust's minimum requirements
  • Valid Advanced Life Support certification

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualifications from other clinical specialty training programmes relevant to critical care (e.g. emergency medicine, anaesthesia, acute medicine)
  • Academic qualification (e.g. BSc, MSc, MD, PhD) in a topic related to critical care and/or neurosciences
  • Training in teaching skills (e.g. post-graduate certificate in education, MA(ed) or similar)
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification
  • Training/qualifications in leadership/management skills
