About the Role

This Senior Archivist has operational responsibility for the workflow of data for The National Archives' catalogue and leads our work on archival descriptive standards.

You will be involved in all aspects of our cataloguing programme and will collaborate with colleagues across The National Archives. As an expert cataloguer, you will enjoy working with data and thinking creatively to solve problems.

In the coming years, the infrastructure and methods for managing the content of our catalogue will change significantly as we update our technology and handle ever-increasing amounts of data about our physical and digital collections.

Responsibilities:

  1. Day-to-day operational responsibility for the workflow of data for The National Archives' catalogue
  2. Leading our work on archival descriptive standards
  3. Collaborating with colleagues across The National Archives
  4. Developing and improving practices and processes
