Systems Engineering Manager

Location: Warton (Lancashire) – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Salary: £47,683 to £52,426 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

Job Summary:

As a Systems Engineering Manager at BAE Systems, you will play a key role in interfacing with customers, understanding their requirements, and keeping them involved during product development. You will be responsible for managing a team and senior stakeholders, as well as working closely with other Engineering Leads through the integration lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the development of engineering products and solutions that meet expected standards and customer needs.
  2. Manage a team of engineers and work closely with senior stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  3. Interface with customers to understand their requirements and keep them involved during product development.
  4. Work closely with other Engineering Leads through the integration lifecycle to propose, develop, and deliver engineering products and solutions.
  5. Develop and implement engineering solutions that meet customer needs and company standards.
Requirements:
  1. Degree educated in a STEM discipline or HND/HNC with sound experience of the Engineering Lifecycle.
  2. Evidence-based experience in an engineering integration environment (Applicants encouraged from Aerospace, Automotive, Rail, and Nuclear Industries).
  3. Experience of Model-Based Engineering approaches and the supporting methods and toolsets (Teamcenter PLM, DOORs, CAMEO, MATLAB, ANSYS).
  4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint).
  5. Good communication skills across all levels of an organisation.
  6. Self-starter and pro-active but with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  7. Accreditation to the International Council of Systems Engineering (INCOSE), or equivalent body/institute, is desirable but not essential.
