About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Apprentice Instructor to join our team at Tata Steel UK. As a Mechanical Apprentice Instructor, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and assessing high-impact learning events for our apprentices.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that our training approaches are efficient, effective, and meet business needs. Your primary focus will be on providing support and guidance to learners, ensuring a positive learning experience, and meeting team KPIs.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in machine workshop experience, a time-served apprenticeship, and previous experience operating and training individuals on mechanical workshop machines. A good understanding of the education system and plant knowledge are also essential.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver training materials to enable individuals to successfully complete a program of learning.
- Maintain and improve the training environment, ensuring facilities, equipment, tools, and materials are safe and fit for use.
- Deliver training effectively, demonstrating insight into learning techniques and adapting delivery style appropriately to the learner.
- Assess the knowledge and skill requirements of learners and inform them and managers of training outcomes.
- Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to ensure training approaches are efficient and effective.
- Minimum 5 years of machine workshop experience (lathe/miller).
- Completion of a time-served apprenticeship.
- Previous experience operating and training individuals on mechanical workshop machines.
- Educated to HNC/HND level.
- Plant knowledge.
- A good understanding of the education system.
