Job Title: Project Director - Commercial Fit Out
At Turner & Townsend, we're passionate about delivering exceptional results for our clients. As a Project Director - Commercial Fit Out, you'll play a key role in leading our team to achieve this goal.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
- Provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
- Ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
- Lead on compliance for quality, safety, health and environment issues on project commissions.
- Lead on establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
- Lead on Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
- Leading on advising upon the procurement of resources.
- Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team.
- Leading on the monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
- Leading and advising upon project finances.
- Leading and advising on Contract Administration processes, claims resolution and disputes.
- Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
- Preparing formal project progress and other reports.
- Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
Marketing and Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager.
- Lead in the production of bid documentation.
- Ensure that project case study, photograph and project CV files are kept up to date on our internal systems.
- Identify ways in which project management products and services can be improved and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
Internal Management Accountabilities:
- Knowledge management – Ensure that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
- Financial management – Ensure prompt client invoicing and monitoring a project's financial status.
- Process improvement – Identify ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
- Line Management – Mentor and develop line reports, carry out performance reviews and identify skills gaps in the team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction or other related fields.
- At least 10 years of experience working on interior fit-out projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Project).
- Good analytical skills, able to execute multiple projects at the same time without disruptions. Able to work with the client from all chains of command. Able to be a good representative of the client.
- Demonstrated experience of a willingness and ability to consistently dive deep into project delivery, creative problem solving, and the ability to push past barriers to achieve full project execution.
