Job Title: Project Director - Commercial Fit Out

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end-to-end service delivery.
  • Provide support on major Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for an aspect of service delivery.
  • Ensure that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
  • Lead on compliance for quality, safety, health and environment issues on project commissions.
  • Lead on establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout project.
  • Lead on Project planning, including producing the detailed project plan.
  • Leading on advising upon the procurement of resources.
  • Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team.
  • Leading on the monitoring and applying performance management techniques.
  • Leading and advising upon project finances.
  • Leading and advising on Contract Administration processes, claims resolution and disputes.
  • Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  • Preparing formal project progress and other reports.
  • Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager.
  • Lead in the production of bid documentation.
  • Ensure that project case study, photograph and project CV files are kept up to date on our internal systems.
  • Identify ways in which project management products and services can be improved and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.

Internal Management Accountabilities:

  • Knowledge management – Ensure that key information and learning generated from each project is input into the Turner & Townsend internal database.
  • Financial management – Ensure prompt client invoicing and monitoring a project's financial status.
  • Process improvement – Identify ways in which internal systems and processes can be improved and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
  • Line Management – Mentor and develop line reports, carry out performance reviews and identify skills gaps in the team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction or other related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience working on interior fit-out projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Project).
  • Good analytical skills, able to execute multiple projects at the same time without disruptions. Able to work with the client from all chains of command. Able to be a good representative of the client.
  • Demonstrated experience of a willingness and ability to consistently dive deep into project delivery, creative problem solving, and the ability to push past barriers to achieve full project execution.
