Job SummaryWe are currently recruiting for a Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, located in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe and successful completion of projects, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, time, procurement, and client interface.
Key Responsibilities- Safety and Welfare: Ensure the safety and welfare of the general public, staff, and supply chain within their control, adhering to the company's safety policy.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the delivery of continuous safety improvements and ensure that all team members are fully inducted and carry out role-specific requirements.
- Project Delivery: Oversee the successful safe completion of projects, ensuring quality, time, procurement, and client interface are met.
- Design Management: Collaborate with the Project Design Co-ordinator to manage internal/external design teams/consultants, meeting project deadlines and contract design requirements.
- Procurement: Work with the project MQS, QS, and Buying team to procure efficiently and to programme, meeting both budget and programme needs.
- Team Development: Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills, providing regular feedback and challenging learning experiences.
- Employee Engagement: Ensure employees feel motivated and engaged to deliver excellence.
- Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment of the best people available to meet project needs.
- Client Relationships: Manage liaisons, interfaces, and contacts with project clients and stakeholders, maintaining positive and ongoing customer relationships.
- Communication: Ensure all correspondence related to the project is managed effectively.
- Planning: Develop detailed plans commensurate with the overall project plan, ensuring material, resources, and supply chain can be procured and scheduled.
- Meetings and Reporting: Chair site meetings, progress meetings, safety meetings, and project reviews with all stakeholders, producing formal client and internal project reports and drop line programmes.
- Additional Work: Ensure all additional work is identified, fully costed, and agreed with the client.
- Commercial Awareness: Understand and appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process, incorporating these within decision-making.
- Project Programme: Strategically produce and regularly review the project programme (including Procurement & Design) to ensure completion on time.
- Site Processes: Ensure processes on site are adhered to.
