The Role
Are you a proactive HR professional seeking a new opportunity to make a significant impact in a charity dedicated to addressing the inequalities that contribute to poverty?
We are searching for a passionate and skilled HR professional to join our team as a Retail Human Resources Business Partner for our retail network. This role requires regular travel to various regions. You will play a crucial role in advancing our people and culture strategy, nurturing a positive workplace atmosphere within our shops, and ensuring our HR practices reflect our core values.
As part of our People and Culture Division, you will collaborate with the Retail HR team. In your capacity as an HR Business Partner, you will be instrumental in supporting our retail staff. You will oversee HR lifecycle activities within our network, providing tailored, employee-focused guidance on people-related matters that align with our organizational values. Your role will involve bridging the gap between different stakeholders, ensuring that the unique needs of each shop are not only met but exceeded. You will engage in diverse tasks, from developing customized people plans to collaborating effectively with colleagues across Oxfam, utilizing your creativity to devise innovative solutions.
About You
We seek a candidate who can collaborate across teams within the People and Culture Division and the broader organization to promote continuous improvement in inclusive HR practices.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as an HR generalist with a strong ability to partner with management teams, offering trusted advice, coaching, and training on various HR strategies and issues.
- Expertise in HR policies, procedures, and best practices, with a solid understanding of UK employment legislation, including employee relations and HR best practices.
- Experience in supporting talent acquisition and retention efforts, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, and employee development.
- A track record of delivering tailored, innovative, and creative solutions to people-related challenges in a self-directed manner.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to respond effectively to diverse audiences, demonstrating a genuine commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Proficiency in using data to inform decisions, mitigate risks, and drive organizational change.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a capacity to respond swiftly to identified issues.
- Experience in managing and executing HR projects within a complex operational environment.
- CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- Retail experience is preferred.
- Willingness to travel regularly for business purposes, with a valid UK driving license being desirable.
