About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to students with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Lead targeted literacy sessions to help students improve their reading and writing skills.
  • Conduct weekly learning mentoring sessions to support students in exploring their feelings around learning.
  • Implement a visual chart system to track students' academic progress and behavior.
  • Deliver emotional literacy interventions to help students identify and express their emotions effectively.
  • Facilitate small-group sessions to develop social skills, peer relationships, and emotional resilience.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for a caring individual with a strong passion for supporting children with SEMH needs. Experience working in a school or SEMH setting is highly beneficial.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with students and staff.
  • A patient, calm, and resilient approach to working with students, especially when managing challenging behaviors.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in developing engaging and meaningful learning experiences for students.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain records of progress and behavior.
