Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support teenagers with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in our schools in Islington. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support due to emotional or behavioural difficulties. Your primary responsibility will be to help manage behaviour in the classroom, ensuring a safe and positive learning environment. You will also provide one-to-one or small group support to help students re-engage with their education, developing strategies to boost their confidence and self-esteem.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in managing behaviour in the classroom
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students
- Develop strategies to boost students' confidence and self-esteem
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to create personalised learning plans

Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- A genuine passion for supporting teenagers and helping them succeed
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
