Temporary Associate Editorial Manager

We are seeking a Temporary Associate Editorial Manager to join our team on a part-time basis. This role involves managing a team of Publishing Editors to deliver KPIs in line with departmental and journal strategies. You will be responsible for leading and motivating the team to provide excellent customer service, managing workflow, and ensuring consistency across journal teams.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the team's workflow from manuscript submission to final decision
- Ensuring that submitted articles are reviewed to the journal's standards and quality
- Managing support for the manuscript processing of external Associate Editors as required
- Monitoring team performance and advising the Editorial Manager and Executive Editor of any performance issues
Requirements:
A degree in science is essential, and experience in STM publishing is required. A willingness to lead and manage a team, previous experience would be advantageous. Good organisational and time-management skills, together with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines are also necessary. We offer hybrid working, flexible working arrangements, and a supportive team environment.
Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum.
