About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fleet Assistant to join our team at Leicestershire Police. As a key member of the Vehicle Fleet Team, you will play a crucial role in the management of our vehicle recovery scheme.

As a Senior Fleet Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the release and disposal of recovered vehicles, managing the disposal process through auctions when necessary. You will also represent the force in relation to vehicle recovery at national and regional levels, ensuring effective collaboration with contractors, police officers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of work systems and processing procedures related to vehicle recovery, further enhancing your skills and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the release and/or disposal of all recovered vehicles, managing the disposal of vehicles by auction when appropriate.
  • Represent the Force in relation to Vehicle Recovery at National and Regional levels.
  • Help with the development with Vehicle Recovery work systems and processing procedures.
  • Liaise with contractors, police officers, insurance companies and all other interested and third parties.

Requirements:

  • Experience of administrative duties such as invoicing, accounting and report writing.
  • The ability to defuse difficult situations and effectively deal with distressed or irate individuals.
  • Working knowledge of Data Protection and Computer Misuse legislation.
  • The ability to carry out audits and inspections of contractor's premise.

Salary: £27,789 - £29,874 per annum (pro-rata for part-time hours).
