About this opportunity:

Hernshead Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Engineering team. The successful candidate will support the development of safety requirements for all projects, working closely with design teams and their supply base to ensure safe designs across the customer base.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support cross-functional development teams on functional safety matters across the entire development and verification cycle.
  • Provide guidance and support on functional safety requirements, including item definition, hazard identification, hazard analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Drive the development of best practice procedures for functional safety activities.
  • Develop and maintain the functional safety requirements management system to ensure traceability across the functional safety lifecycle of projects.
  • Act as a single point of accountability for the delivery of functional safety work products.
  • Present reasoned safety analysis and arguments to educate stakeholders and influence design decisions.
  • Participate in technical reviews and support the delivery of safe designs.
