Quality Engineer Contract Opportunity

Prospec Associates is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Quality Strategy Development: Define and implement a quality strategy that meets the program's requirements.
  2. Customer Satisfaction: Ensure customer requirements are met through robust internal processes and engineering feedback.
  3. Quality Management System: Manage and continuously improve an agile quality management system and team.
  4. FMEA Activities: Support Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) activities to identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
  5. Supplier Management: Develop close working relationships with suppliers to ensure the development of safety-critical parts is robustly manufactured.
  6. Auditing: Audit suppliers for approval or performance assessment of new and existing suppliers.
  7. Process Improvement: Develop strategies to ensure visual carbon composites meet customer requirements while maintaining a right-first-time mentality.
  8. Problem Resolution: Utilize 8D principles to effectively resolve complex, cross-functional issues.
  9. Product Specifications: Collaborate with suppliers to develop product specifications aligned with process capability.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
  2. Experience: Automotive Tier 1/OEM or SQE experience with sound knowledge of APQP systems and procedures.
  3. Client-Facing Experience: Evidence of client or customer-facing experience.
  4. CAD Skills: Proven use of CAD (CATIA v5 preferred).
  5. Auditing Experience: Auditing experience.
  6. Travel: Valid UK driving license to travel to supplier locations as needed.
