Financial Management Accountant / Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Management Accountant / Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at Building Careers UK in Skelmersdale.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including purchase and sales ledgers.
  2. Prepare and review financial reports, including month-end journals and management accounts.
  3. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  4. Manage bank accounts and cash flow within the group.
  5. Oversee the credit card payment system.
General Role:
  1. Act as a business partner to various areas across the business, providing financial guidance and support.
  2. Perform month-end routines, including commentary, analysis, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliation.
  3. Assist in budget preparation and quarterly VAT returns.
  4. Conduct nominal ledger reconciliations.
  5. Undertake ad-hoc project work and analysis as required.
Requirements:
  1. Strong financial skills and knowledge, with the ability to cover most tasks.
  2. Excellent Excel skills.
  3. High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  6. Positive attitude and high motivation.
Desirable Qualifications:
  1. AAT or ACCA/CIMA qualification, with a desire to complete further studies.
  2. Relevant experience in finance, with a minimum of two years' experience in all areas of finance.
