About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse or Paramedic to join our team as a Custody Healthcare Specialist. As a key member of our custody healthcare service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in police custody.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in police custody, assessing fitness for detention, interview, release, or transfer.
  • Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries and take appropriate actions, referring onwards for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations of individuals in police custody, recording and documenting injuries and collecting DNA evidence as required.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organisation, ensuring the highest clinical and quality standards are maintained.
  • Administer medications through PGDs and PTPs, following established protocols and guidelines.
