Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Porter to join our team at the Old White Horse in Baldock. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization, and supporting our culinary team in delivering exceptional dishes to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning and Sanitizing: Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces are clean and sanitized to maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety.
- Porterage and Storage: Collect and wash up pots and pans, clean food preparation areas and equipment, and maintain a well-organized store room.
- Food Preparation: Assist with food preparation, including preparing salads and desserts, and support the culinary team in delivering exceptional dishes.
- Team Support: Provide assistance to the culinary team as needed, including deep cleans and laundry of kitchen towels and aprons.
Requirements
- Previous Experience: Some previous exposure to a kitchen environment is ideal, but not essential.
- Initiative and Teamwork: Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, with a strong desire to learn, improve, and train from those around you.
- Attention to Detail: A proud individual who always strives to deliver their best, with a passion for fresh food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness.
