Hertfordshire Catering Limited is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Culinary Assistant to work in our primary schools. This role is ideal for someone looking for a great work-life balance, working term time only, Monday to Friday.

As a Culinary Assistant, you will be part of a great team at Hartsfield School, working with a highly motivated team to deliver exceptional food services to students and staff. We are proactive in providing training and support to develop your culinary skills.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking meals, including special dietary requirements
• Cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining area
• Stocktaking and ordering
• Maintaining budgets
• Adhering to our Food Safety Management System
• Health and Safety compliance
• Providing friendly and polite customer service
• Deputising for the Cook Manager in their absence
• Being IT literate

We are looking for someone who is passionate about food, has previous catering experience, and can manage and motivate a team. Food hygiene level 2 is preferred, but not essential as training will be given. You will also need to demonstrate exceptional timekeeping and reliability, and be able to communicate fluently with customers in accurate spoken and written English.
