About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bannview House, a modern and purpose-built Nursing Home. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, providing high-quality meals and dining experiences for our residents.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Chef to ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for, and that meals and other catering supplies are delivered to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene practices
  • Assist with the basic preparation of food items
  • Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the home
  • Undertake any other duties as designated by the Chef or Cook

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment
  • A good standard of both verbal and written English
  • Previous catering, kitchen or food preparation experience
  • Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
