Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bannview House, a modern and purpose-built Nursing Home. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, providing high-quality meals and dining experiences for our residents.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a care home or healthcare environment, with a good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Main Responsibilities- Ensure that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with our Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Deliver meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with the basic preparation of food items under the direction of the Chef.
- Ensure all cleaning within the kitchen, catering, and servery areas is completed and complies with our Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Deliver and maintain a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensure that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.
