About the RoleThis is a critical role, leading a team of 225 people to provide partnering and HR Advice and Guidance services in support of 85,000 colleagues across 980 sites. The successful applicant will lead DWP's HR Business Partnering and HR Casework Services, working with multiple senior stakeholders to design people strategies and implement people-related change in business areas.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and work with senior stakeholders to develop and implement people strategies and plans
- Provide partnering and HR Advice and Guidance services to support business areas
- Drive and develop local people strategies and plans, and end-to-end HR services to enable transformation
- Advise and influence across the Government People Group, sitting on cross-Government and Departmental decision-making and assurance groups
- Accountable for driving, developing, and delivering local people strategies and plans, and end-to-end HR services
- Deep understanding of professional HR knowledge and current best practice people issues
- Strong understanding of data and analytics that underpin effective decision-making and risk management in people-related matters
- Experience of developing and driving people and business strategy in an organisation at the apex of change and transformation
- Experience working at a whole system level to develop approaches based on a deep understanding of customers and the levers to effect positive outcomes
- Strong evidence of successfully influencing and managing complex senior stakeholder relationships
- Extensive experience of providing visible and collaborative leadership within a complex organisation

The Department for Work and Pensions contributes 28.97% towards being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. The role can be based in one of the following DWP Hub locations: Birmingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield. Hybrid working policy: the expectation is that the successful candidate will be in the office more than 60% of the time.
