Animal Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Animal Care Specialist to join our team at GLG Vets in Carterton, Oxfordshire.
Salary and BenefitsThe successful candidate can expect a salary of up to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including:
- Annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- CPD Allowance
- VDS, RCVS and BVA fees paid
- Loading Assistance (no strict full-time hours)
As an Animal Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional veterinary care to animals while working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing routine examinations, diagnostics, and treatments on a variety of animals.
- Conducting surgical procedures as needed, including spaying, neutering, and other minor surgeries.
- Collaborating with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Providing guidance and advice to pet owners on general care, feeding, and wellness.
- Maintaining accurate records of patient histories, treatments, and progress.
To be considered for this role, you will need to have:
- A veterinary degree from a recognized institution.
- A valid veterinary license to practice in the UK.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- A compassionate and caring approach to animals.
