Job Title: Financial Assistant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Assistant to join the accounts team of a regional law firm based in the Southwest. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the organisation's financial operations, working in a supportive environment where you can thrive and hit the ground running.

Job Summary:

The Financial Assistant will be responsible for undertaking daily banking functions, including daily reconciliations, preparing cheques and assisting with bill processing, supporting internal stakeholders with ledger queries, and assisting with the annual Solicitors Accounts rules audit. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and previous experience working within accounts or as a Finance assistant is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake daily banking functions, including daily reconciliations
  • Prepare cheques and assist with bill processing
  • Support internal stakeholders with ledger queries
  • Assist with the annual Solicitors Accounts rules audit
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly accounts packs
  • Contribute to the annual audit
  • Manage petty cash and credit cards
  • Oversee the creditors ledger
  • Provide ad hoc reporting as required
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Previous experience working within accounts or as a Finance assistant is essential
  • AAT level 3 or 4
  • Thrive in a busy work environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficient in using XERO
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise workload
