Psychiatric Intensive Care Specialist

As a Senior Clinical Leader in Psychiatry, you will play a crucial role in providing senior clinical input into the integrated acute care pathway on Oak Ward, a 12-bedded acute assessment unit for adults of working age (male only) based at Kingfisher Court in Radlett.
The estimated salary for this position is around £70,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience. This figure is calculated based on industry standards and takes into account the level of expertise required for this role.
As a Specialist Doctor in Psychiatry, your main duties will include:
- Mental Health Act Work: Meeting the requirements of emergency work, MHA assessments, and assessments of capacity, Community Treatment Orders. Presenting evidence at MHA Tribunals and Hospital Managers Hearings Maintain AC Status and attend relevant training.
- Clinical Leadership: Providing regular or ad hoc supervision on clinical matters with members of the team. Leading a culture of high-quality clinical care.
- Liaison: Maintaining good working relationships with primary and secondary care colleagues.
- Physical Health: Ensuring physical health monitoring, monitoring for metabolic complications related to medication, Lithium monitoring, and adherence to the Clozapine protocols.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 4 years' full-time postgraduate training in psychiatry, including at least two years of experience working in a psychiatry training programme or as a fixed-term Specialty Trainee within psychiatry. You should also have excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
