About the Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist in this role, you will be responsible for providing diagnosis, management, and consultation for complex mental health presentations to the multidisciplinary team. Your clinical work will involve face-to-face meetings with families/young people referred to the consultant post holder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide the psychiatric component of the CAMHS tier 3 service to the under 18 population in the Eating Disorder CAMHS Team.
  • Assess a young person's mental state, formulate a diagnosis, and monitor the risks a young person poses.
  • Provide consultation, advice, and appropriate support to professionals in the wider network of the young person and/or family.
Person SpecificationProfessional Qualifications
  • MRC Psych or equivalent
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • Section 12 Approved
  • Certificate of completion of relevant Specialist Training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Psychiatry of Learning Disability (or within 6 months)
Experience, Skills & Knowledge
  • Section 12 Approval / Approved Clinician Status (Candidates from abroad can apply for this within 3 months of taking up post)
  • Broad range of experience in psychiatric practice and in the use of psychological therapies.
  • Experience and competencies in assessing and treating children and adolescents with eating disorders and complex mental health needs and their families.
  • Previous experience of working in a child and adolescent service.
  • Ability to demonstrate experience and knowledge of Safeguarding in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Previous experience of Leadership and Management roles working in a child and adolescent service.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £85,000 - £115,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a member of our team, you will also have access to a range of benefits, including flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.
