We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Older Prisoner Co-ordinator to join our team at BRC. As an integral part of our rehabilitation and reintegration efforts, you will play a vital role in supporting older prisoners in their transition back into society.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored support plans for older prisoners, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and community partners to create pathways for employment, housing, and healthcare, promoting successful reintegration.
  • Advocate for the rights and dignity of older prisoners, striving to create a rehabilitative environment that fosters hope and second chances.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in offender management or rehabilitation programs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by older individuals within the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach towards supporting individuals through their reintegration journey.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A relevant degree or professional accreditation in social work, criminology, psychology, or a related field.
  • Additional training or certification in rehabilitation or reintegration practices.
  • Experience working within the justice system or with vulnerable populations is highly desirable.
