About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safeguarding Nurse Specialist to join our Endocrine Service team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, specialized care and advice to patients within a defined caseload, utilizing specialist nursing skills and ensuring that care and support to patients and families is sensitive to their needs for courtesy, dignity, and privacy.
  • Meet with patients and, when wished, their family at key stages in their pathway to provide individualized written and verbal information and support that will help them to prepare for treatment and its outcome at key points in their pathway.
  • Provide ongoing support and continuity of care to patients and their families in hospital, clinic, and home settings and by telephone contact.
  • Meet the patient's individualized care needs through utilizing the holistic assessment process throughout the patient pathway, promoting self-management following treatment.
  • Work in collaboration with all members of the local and Specialist multi-disciplinary teams in order to ensure the provision of a high-quality, timely service for patients and their families.
