About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Community Listener to join our Mental Health Research Engagement Network (REN) in Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for gathering information and stories from local communities through various listening approaches and feeding this back to our programme team, including researchers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with local communities for a minimum of 2 hours per month to gather information and stories.
  • Provide insights and experiences from target communities to support research studies.
  • Maintain relationships between local communities, researchers, and the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector.

Requirements:

  • Able to make individuals feel heard and comfortable sharing their stories.
  • Possess valuable life lessons through personal or professional experience of mental ill health.
  • Passionate about empowering communities to influence local mental health research studies.
