Communication Officer for Medical Research Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Communication Officer for Medical Research to join our team at the Medical Research Council. As a key member of the Communications and Engagement Team, you will play a crucial role in promoting our research and communicating with internal stakeholders.

About the Role:

  • This is a full-time position based in London.
  • You will be working closely with academics, researchers, post-docs, and PhD students to promote our research and communicate with internal stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have excellent written communication skills, experience in website and social media management, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective internal communications strategies to engage staff and promote our research.
  • Manage and maintain our intranet and website, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to staff.
  • Support the development and delivery of thought-provoking news articles and press releases about our research and internal activities.
  • Liaise with senior scientists, post-doctoral staff, facilities and operational staff, and PhD students to gather information and promote our research.

Requirements:

  • BSc degree level (or equivalent experience) in a science-related subject.
  • Experience in delivering tasks to a high standard within timelines and budget.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English.

Estimated Salary: £28,498 - £30,201 per annum plus London Allowances (£3,913 & £1,472).
