Lancashire County Council is committed to promoting road safety and improving the lives of residents in our county. As a Community Liaison Coordinator, you will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to promote road safety awareness and education within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • \
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local schools, parents, and community members to promote road safety awareness and education\
  • Work closely with our team to identify and address any traffic-related concerns or issues in the area\
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to the public, responding to queries and providing information on road safety initiatives\
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on incidents and observations, contributing to ongoing improvements in road safety\
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in road safety and customer service\
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure a cohesive approach to road safety and community engagement\
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to promote road safety awareness and education within the community\
  • Perform other duties as required, consistent with the role and responsibilities of a Community Liaison Coordinator\

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds\
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands\
  • A high level of situational awareness, with the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations\
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture\
  • Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn new software systems\
  • Possession of a valid driving license and ability to drive a vehicle safely and efficiently\
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the needs of the service\
  • Familiarity with road safety principles and practices, with a willingness to learn and develop knowledge and skills in this area\
  • Education to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and mathematics, with a strong emphasis on numeracy and literacy skills\
  • Ability to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with a clear police record\
