Job Description

Job Title: Specialty Dentist in Endodontics

Job Summary:

The Specialty Dentist in Endodontics will work under the employment of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Endodontics service is a standalone service, strategically developed by the Dental Division, receiving referrals from primary care practitioners to manage pulpal and periradicular disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver treatment and work on new patient consultant-led diagnostic and treatment planning clinics.
  • Manage a wide range of endodontic cases under the supervision and instruction of consultants.
  • Provide advice and assistance to junior dental staff in training.
  • Participate in clinical teaching of trainees and postgraduate dental students.
  • Contribute to departmental administration and routine correspondence with referring practitioners.
  • Participate in Hospital/Departmental Quality Assurance, Clinical Audit, and Clinical Governance programs.
  • Undergo an annual appraisal and job planning.
  • Deputise for absent colleagues and perform additional duties during emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
