Main Job Responsibilities

This is a rare opportunity to develop the senior leadership within the critical care and surgical team at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Physiotherapy Clinical Specialist, you will lead the development of critical care and surgical Physiotherapy services at QEQM hospital.

Key Duties
  • Provide therapeutic clinical expertise and high-quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Lead, develop, and evaluate critical care and surgical Physiotherapy services.
  • Collaborate with other clinical specialists across the Health Economy to provide a high-quality, efficient service.
  • Ensure clinical governance targets are met, including the development of clinical standards and protocols.
Person Specification

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist with a strong clinical background and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years post-graduate experience in a relevant clinical area.
  • A proven record of providing high-quality intervention.
  • Clinical educator experience.
  • Participation in clinical audit.
  • Evidence of clinical supervision.
  • Participation in service development/quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Highly developed clinical skills in relevant area.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Teaching / facilitating training.
  • Up to date therapeutic moving & handling skills.
  • Effective and strong team player.
  • Proven effective leadership and managerial skills.
Qualifications and Knowledge
  • Bsc Physiotherapy.
  • HCPC registration.
  • Relevant post-grad training.
  • Knowledge of up-to-date clinical / evidenced based practice.
  • Evidence of using clinical outcome measures.

  • Ability to motivate and organise others to ensure best practice.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner.
