Specialty Doctor

We are seeking an exceptional Specialty Doctor to join our Community Mental Health Service (CMHS) team. As a Specialty Doctor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to adults of working age across two GP-based geographic localities in Plymouth.
Our CMHS provides coordinated community psychiatric care, working closely with Senior and Junior Medical Staff, Community Mental Health Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers, and Psychologists. You will be responsible for interviewing and assessing patients, writing comprehensive medical notes, and working in a clinic and community setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to patients with severe and enduring mental illness
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure smooth functioning of the service
- Develop psychotherapeutic skills and participate in training programs

Person Specification
- Four years full-time postgraduate training or equivalent
- Knowledge of current mental health legislation
- Ability to communicate with patients and staff to a high standard
- Computer and IT skills
