Job Summary:
Randstad is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Student Support Specialist to join our team. As a Specialist Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting autistic students studying at Universities and Colleges in Bristol.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in understanding academic requirements and developing time management and organisational skills.
- Help students break down tasks to meet deadlines and achieve a balance between study and daily living.
- Assist students in managing anxiety, stress, or low mood and prepare them for new experiences.
- Build on students' learning strengths and help them become independent learners.
Requirements:
- Qualified to undergraduate degree level (level 6 as minimum) and extensive training in adult autism.
- Experience of working with autistic clients and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to identify ways of helping students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship.
- Punctuality and reliability, good organisational skills, and ability to manage a caseload of students.
