Job Title: Specialist Mentor

Randstad Student Support is seeking a Specialist Mentor to work with autistic students studying at Universities and Colleges in Bristol. As a trusted advisor, you will assist students throughout the academic year, helping them reflect on their experiences and introducing strategies to overcome barriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students in understanding academic requirements
  • Develop time management and organisational skills
  • Break down tasks to meet deadlines
  • Achieve a balance between study and daily living
  • Manage anxiety, stress, or low mood
  • Prepare for new experiences
  • Build confidence and strengths to become an independent learner
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a degree-level qualification and extensive training in adult autism. You should be able to identify ways to help students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship.

Desirable skills include experience working with autistic clients, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage a caseload of students.
