We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Physician to join our dynamic team of experts in Complex Geriatric Medicine at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. About the Role:

As a Senior Physician in Complex Geriatric Medicine, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, managing complex cases, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding outcomes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our senior consultants, associate specialists, and specialist registrars to develop your expertise and contribute to the advancement of geriatric medicine.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive geriatric assessments and management plans for patients with complex needsDevelop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teamsPromote best practices in geriatric care, including falls prevention, dementia management, and palliative careParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in Geriatric Medicine, with experience in managing complex cases and leading multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in mentoring junior staff and contributing to quality improvement initiatives
  • A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a focus on staying up-to-date with the latest advances in geriatric medicine
