About the Role

CITIC Pacific Mining Management is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cape Preston. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering advice, expertise, and guidelines for commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our state-of-the-art Power Plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Develop and implement procedures for regular inspections, spare parts management, and equipment operation parameter review.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent - Electrical Engineering to ensure compliance with regulations, Australian Standards, and industrial practices.
  • Develop and manage budgets for inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the Operations, Maintenance, and Technical (OMT) team.
  • Participate in acceptance inspections and testing, and develop process optimization and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • A current WA Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 2 years' experience in an engineering environment involved in Power System design, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical engineering, electrical system operation, protection, and control.
  • Professional knowledge of generator, transformer, switchgear, circuit breaker, electric motor, VSD, CT, PT, protection relay, etc.
  • Familiarity with operation procedures, periodic inspection and testing items and criteria, maintenance and overhaul procedures, and acceptance inspection criteria of the equipment mentioned above.
  • Familiarity with content of asset management, using relevant asset management software (SAP).
  • Relevant knowledge of Australian Standards/Practices and statutory requirements relating to the position.
