About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company LLC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical, controls, and instrumentation systems for our clean energy solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrical, controls, and instrumentation designs for our projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design deliverables meet project requirements and are produced to a high standard.
  • Produce and check technical documents, including Basis of Design, Testing Strategies/Schedules, and Method Statements.
  • Take ownership of design deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring Design Intent is maintained.
  • Present technical solutions to clients and stakeholders, communicating complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Support the development of project safety cases, including HAZID and HAZOP attendance, and production of basis of safety documents.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers and designers to deliver the engineering scope and enhance the company's capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with key counterparts in client or partner organizations.
Requirements
  • At least 5+ years' experience in industry, with at least 2 years at Engineer level, preferably in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Chartered Member of the IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) or equivalent.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the UK.
  • Detailed knowledge of standards, regulations, codes, and directives, and how they should be applied.
  • Proven knowledge of EC&I design theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of technical documentation, including the production of Technical Files for new products/plant and equipment.
  • Experience of design in accordance with the IET 18th edition (BS7671) and other relevant standards.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office and CAE packages.
