Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Tarmac is seeking a talented and ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our high-performing contracting team based in the North East office in Birtley, Chester-le-Street.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commercial aspects of individual construction projects, including preparing and agreeing interim valuations and final accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Record, monitor, and review the financial performance of contracts, ensuring timely payments from clients within specified contract terms.
  • Procure and manage subcontractor accounts, pre-contract pricing, and agreement of project costs.
  • Mentor other staff and contribute to a dynamic and inclusive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Currently working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying or undertaking further education courses.
  • Demonstrable interpersonal and problem-solving skills, confident numeracy and analytical ability, and drive to succeed.
  • Strong organisational ability, ability to build successful relationships, and confident IT skills, including Excel, databases, and bespoke software packages.
  • Full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 points.
