Job Title: Quarry and Asphalt Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quarry and Asphalt Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team at our Client's Halecombe Quarry and Asphalt Plant.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the maintenance section, ensuring optimal performance and quality of operations.
  2. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance scheme for fixed and mobile plant.
  3. Supervise a team of 4 engineers and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  4. Drive productivity and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  5. Monitor and report key performance indicators, including Overall Operations Effectiveness (OOE) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  6. Communicate performance targets and KPIs to the team through regular meetings and briefings.
  7. Complete plant and vehicle maintenance checks and inspections as required.
  8. Apply basic maintenance practices, including checking levels, parts, wear, pressure, and sensors, and greasing and lubricating equipment.
  9. Monitor and report key successes and deficiencies across site, undertaking root cause analysis and calling out problems as required.
  10. Control production costs, reviewing these regularly with management.
  11. Maintain Health and Safety rules and regulations, ensuring all Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with.
  12. Lead, manage, and develop a team, optimizing engagement and overall team performance.
  13. Resolve complex technical issues or failures as they arise.
  14. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective service contracts are in place.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in a managerial role within a similar heavy manufacturing industry.
  2. Line management experience is essential.
  3. Mechanical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems knowledge.
  4. Experience in crushing, screening, and other heavy plant equipment.
  5. HNC/HND and/or recognized apprenticeship or BEng advantageous.
  6. Ability to challenge people, hold them accountable for job completion, and quality of completion.
  7. Proven computer literacy, familiarity with MS Word and Excel.
  8. Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  9. Flexible approach to ensure productivity is maximized.
  10. Positive, proactive can-do attitude in dealing with your team and other stakeholders.
  11. Continuous Improvement techniques, Lean methodology, Six Sigma, and FMEA and Root Cause Analysis investigative methods.
