FPGA Engineer Job Description

Ultra Maritime is seeking a highly skilled FPGA Engineer to join their team in Staffordshire. As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing FPGA solutions for power converters and motors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement FPGA solutions for power converters and motors
  • Develop VHDL code for FPGA implementation
  • Work with the FPGA Lead to deliver robust and cost-effective designs
  • Collaborate with the project team to meet project objectives
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety-related standards and processes
  • Use model-based design techniques with Matlab/Simulink
  • Track requirements, configure control, and report incidents
  • Provide lab support during hardware development stages

Requirements:

  • Degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Proven track record of FPGA/ASIC design
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VHDL with practical experience in successful projects
  • Experience of model-based design using tools such as Matlab/Simulink
  • Capability of working to formal FPGA/ASIC design processes
  • Broad knowledge of digital electronics and other areas of engineering
  • Good knowledge of best practice design lifecycle process
