Unlock the Power of FPGA Engineering

Ultra Maritime is seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to join our team in Staffordshire. As a key member of our power converters and motors group, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust and cost-effective FPGA solutions for real-time power and motor control applications.

We are open to considering candidates with varying levels of FPGA experience, from Graduate or Entry level Engineers to those operating at a more Senior level. Our team is collaborative, innovative, and thorough, and we are looking for someone who shares our values and is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement FPGA solutions for power and motor control applications
  • Develop and maintain FPGA designs, including requirements capture, RTL coding, and physical stages
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety-related standards and processes
  • Participate in model-based design techniques using Matlab/Simulink modeling and simulation
  • Track and manage requirements, configuration control, incident reporting, and project documentation
  • Provide lab support during hardware development stages
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Proven track record of FPGA/ASIC design
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VHDL with practical experience in successful projects
  • Experience of model-based design using tools such as Matlab/Simulink is preferable
  • Capability of working to formal FPGA/ASIC design processes is essential
  • Broad knowledge of digital electronics and other areas of engineering
  • Good knowledge of best practice design lifecycle process
