FPGA Engineer Job Description

Ultra Maritime is seeking a skilled FPGA Engineer to join their team in Staffordshire. As an FPGA Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing FPGA solutions for power converters and motors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement FPGA solutions for power converters and motors
  • Develop and maintain VHDL code for FPGA designs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of safety-related standards and processes
  • Apply model-based design techniques using Matlab/Simulink
  • Track and manage project requirements, configuration control, and incident reporting
  • Provide lab support during hardware development stages

Requirements:

  • Degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Proven track record of FPGA/ASIC design
  • Comprehensive knowledge of VHDL with practical experience in successful projects
  • Experience of model-based design using tools such as Matlab/Simulink is preferable
  • Capability of working to formal FPGA/ASIC design processes is essential
  • Broad knowledge of digital electronics and other areas of engineering
