We are seeking a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor and Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Capenhurst. As a global leader in low-carbon energy production, we strive for excellence in sustainable practices.

This role involves providing specialized DGSA, transport planning, and execution services for Enrichment Operations, Site Services, Engineering Services, and Chemical Process Operations.

  • As the principal Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, you will advise on operational and regulatory aspects of radioactive materials and dangerous goods transports to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • You will be responsible for managing updates of Company procedures and transport compliance matrices to ensure all operations are fully compliant with transport regulatory requirements.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for transport proposals with UEC and/or external transport companies, you will manage and coordinate the use of Cylinder Related equipment and other equipment used in connection with the transport of Dangerous Goods.
  • You will act as the principle contact for Enrichment Operations, Site Services, Engineering Services, and Chemical Process Operations with DESNEZ, ONR, and HM Customs and Excise for all Export and Import Licensing and Customs-related matters.
  • Evaluating and authorising documentation required for national and international radioactive materials and dangerous goods transports, you will ensure that all deliveries are fully compliant with customer's requirements and applicable legislation.
  • Providing day-to-day supervision and guidance to the Site Services transport team, you will ensure that all transport-related activities are prioritised and carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Qualified as a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor
  • Previous experience working within a highly regulated industry such as Chemical, Oil and Gas, or Nuclear
  • Must hold recognised transport qualifications to consign radioactive materials and dangerous goods by road, sea, and air and revalidate the qualifications as required
  • Highly proficient in the use of SAP, Excel, and other relevant software
  • Excellent understanding of plant and transport operations with a broader understanding of Company and Group-wide processes and organisational roles, typically gained through several years of experience

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum
