Cambridge Regional College is seeking a highly skilled individual to join its Audit and Risk Committee as a Governor or Co-opted Member. The successful candidate will be responsible for safeguarding college assets, agreeing the internal audit schedule, and overseeing the assurance and risk management framework.

About Cambridge Regional College

As one of the largest providers of vocational training and apprenticeships in the region, we offer full-time, part-time, and work-based training to school leavers, adults, and businesses. Our Corporation consists of 20 members, including representatives from local business and the community, as well as staff and student body.

The Audit and Risk Committee plays a vital role in ensuring the college's financial stability and compliance with regulations. As a member, you will attend approximately 6 board meetings per year, in addition to 4 Audit committee meetings (typically 2 hours in the early evening). You will also be required to read meeting papers, undergo training, and participate in occasional college events.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable governance experience, share your skills and expertise, and make a positive impact on our community.

Required Skills and Qualifications

We are particularly looking for candidates with a background in accounting, law, or auditing who are passionate about education. A keen interest in making a difference in our community and a willingness to learn and develop your skills are essential.

A formal qualification as a governor is not necessary, but a strong understanding of corporate governance principles and practices is desirable. We encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who can bring fresh perspectives to our organization.
