Job Summary:

As a key member of our team at ITS (Southampton) Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial refurbishment contractor based in the South. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to our construction projects, ensuring that project budgets are adhered to and value for money is achieved without compromising on quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis for projects to identify potential cost savings and mitigate risks.
• Manage and monitor project costs to ensure compliance with the budget, and make recommendations for cost reductions where possible.
• Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts to secure the best value for our clients.
• Assess, measure, and value the work done on-site to ensure accurate cost reporting and billing.
• Prepare and present detailed reports, analyses, and progress updates to stakeholders, including project managers, clients, and senior management.
• Manage contractual relationships and resolve any disputes that may arise, ensuring that our company's reputation is maintained.
• Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications, and identify potential issues before they become major problems.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure that our projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Advise on procurement strategies and manage procurement processes to ensure that our company is getting the best value for money.
• Maintain awareness of the latest construction technologies and industry trends, and implement best practices to improve our company's efficiency and competitiveness.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, and promote a culture of safety and sustainability within our organization.

Requirements:

• Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred, but not essential.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal guidelines, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective way.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
