At The Canada Life Assurance Company, we're seeking an experienced Solution Solution Architect to join our team. This role will be responsible for defining and maintaining architecture artifacts that support project delivery and application support. The successful candidate will lead technical vision and direction for solutions, ensuring consistency with overall enterprise and portfolio architecture. The role will also involve hands-on development, such as Proof of Concept and project development.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and facilitating a solution architecture that leverages enterprise capabilities and efficient usage of process, technology, data, and people.
  • Leading the definition of and maintaining the technical architecture(s), ensuring the solution meets organisational policies and regulations.
  • Serving as the focal point for significant infrastructure and development issues, ensuring quality designs and helping with diagnostics & resolving technical issues.
  • Building roadmap(s) for implementing software and technology best practices in alignment with enterprise architecture.
  • Acting as a trusted Technology advisor/advocate for business units.
  • Fostering a high-performance culture and influencing this culture within The Canada Life Assurance Company.

Requirements for this role include:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in complex IT environments.
  • Bachelor of Computer Science / Software Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication + relationship building skills.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Workflow and Content management technologies; preferably IBM FileNet / CP4BA, Appian to design scalable, secure & high-performance solutions.
  • Integration skills and knowledge of other development languages, DBMS, API's, Micro Services.
  • An advanced level of analysis of the big picture while maintaining a level of detail appropriate to the context of a variety of situations.
  • Gauging, expressing, and communicating risk.

Experience in the financial services industry or in a similar complex and regulated industry is an asset.
