About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Strategic OpenTelemetry Solutions Architect to join our Strategic SA Organization. As part of this role, you'll support our customer Open Telemetry initiatives, collaborating with regional account teams on strategic engagements requiring strategic planning, consulting, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical evaluations via OpenTelemetry POC/POV ownership and workshop design.
  • Accelerate transformation initiatives and observability maturity for New Relic customers and prospects.
  • Engage with customers in a technical consultancy and advisor role during the pre-sales process, providing technical assistance and solution guidance.
  • Understand and document the current and desired state of the customer's observability state and design solutions to address identified gaps.
  • Map desired customer outcomes to required observability capabilities.
  • Build brand trust and credibility in the OpenTelemetry space through reference architectures, technical blogs, conference presentations, and field resources.
  • Enable New Relic field teams on how to engage and implement OpenTelemetry for New Relic customers.
  • Continuously improve professional skills through training, reading, and mentorship.
Requirements
  • BS in CS (or equivalent).
  • 4+ years of professional experience developing with at least one programming language.
  • Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry standards and other OSS.
  • Observability experience with New Relic, Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, Dynatrace, Grafana Labs, or other observability platforms.
  • Technical, Executive presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business requirements and customer interactions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of customer organization.
