Technical Support Engineer

Incorporated in 1985, our client has been a leading fabricator of steel structures for over 35 years. With a primary focus on the highways infrastructure market, particularly street lighting, they also offer bespoke architectural structures, noise barriers, parapets, fencing, CCTV, and gantries.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic Technical department. As a key member of the team, you will implement your engineering knowledge within our working practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist and support the sales and design teams in delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Create detailed production information and bills of materials for efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Produce DXF files for CNC profiling using AutoCAD.
  • Liaise with the design department to translate customer requirements into detailed design specifications.
  • Perform structural design checks using in-house software to ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Attend meetings with customers to discuss company deliverables and future goals.
  • Represent the company at industry-related exhibitions.
  • Perform other comparable duties as required by the Technical Lead.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of BS EN 40 or previous experience in the lighting industry (advantageous).
  • Previous experience in an engineering or fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Personable, presentable, and articulate communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Strong administration, organization, and communication skills.
  • A degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline (essential).
  • CAD drawing/3D modeling skills (advantageous).
