About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Stroke Consultant to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Stroke team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all stroke patients admitted to our hospital receive the highest possible level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day care for stroke patients and outlying medical patients on the Graham Stroke Unit.
  • Offer stroke-specific clinical input to general medical wards.
  • Develop and maintain robust protocols for the transfer of patients following hyperacute treatments and/or stabilization.
  • Work closely with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure the stroke unit has sufficient capacity to accommodate all suitable stroke patients on admission.
  • Assist the management team with the development of future Consultant and junior doctor roles.

Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is an acute hospital located in the East London Borough of Hackney. We are a merged hospital and community service Trust, providing training for medical students and nursing and allied health professions training for students.

Requirements
  • Fully registered with GMC.
  • MRCP (or equivalent).
  • On specialist register or within 6 months in one of the stroke parent specialities.
  • Stroke experience (at equivalent level to Stroke CCST).
